Some Home Horror Movie Ideas
You want to make your own horror movie. It is a popular dream. Maybe you will make some big money, like that witch movie. Anything is possible. However, you need some new thoughts. There are many things that have been done to death. Here are some fresh ideas for you to consider.
Do not use someone with a mask that yields a Poulan chainsaw. This has been done too many times. Try something similar, yet different. This will give you a fresh approach. Your main character is female. There is a knock on her door. She answers, and finds a man in a cheap suit. Before he starts to talk, she sees something in his hands. He has in his possession, several religious pamphlets. The movie then proceeds to get frightening.
He will not go away. She tries everything. He is determined to save her soul. Of course, he also wants ten percent of her income, for life. Nothing she does will work. The entire movie can focus on her inability to escape this terrible situation.
Maybe that is too intense for most of your viewers. You may need to tone it down a bit. Perhaps there is a maniac running loose that enjoys torturing people. This idea may not be new. However, you can make a few twists and turns to make it seem fresh. It will also keep you from being sued for plagiarism. Start the movie with your maniac. He rides around on a bicycle and wears a black helmet.
Your villain never goes anywhere without his guitar case. Be careful about revealing the contents, too soon. Night falls, and he breaks into a home. A beautiful woman resides there. Maybe she has a roommate, too. That is up to you. This man is very fond of lovely women. That does not seem too bad. However, he also loves to torture them. That makes it a deal breaker, for a first date.
Your villain is inside the house. He surprises the women and bounds them in kitchen chairs. The music volume may rise at this point. You can focus on the guitar case as he nears it. Zoom in while he opens the case to reveal the contents. There it is. It is a Dreadnought acoustic guitar.
Your villain takes out the guitar and begins his song. It is a tossup as to which is worse, singing or playing. Without a doubt, he is terrible. This is definitely cruel and unusual punishment. His victims finally plead for him to stab them with a big knife. They just want the torture to stop.
You will need to make your own ending. There are many possibilities. Try not to make it too predictable. Who knows, you can be on your way to fame and fortune. At least you will be on your way, somewhere.
